Northern Manitoba - An Unexpected Journey

Around 4 PM on Sunday afternoon, I was made aware that a space had opened up in a 5-day caravan of academics and activists leaving 9 AM on Monday. They were going to be touring hydro dam affected communities in Northern Manitoba and wanted me to come along to film the journey and perhaps lay out the foundation for a future documentary. Travel to the north, and responsible collection of b-roll, are two things that I never pass up. I’ll be quiet the next couple days while this journey unfolds. You can be sure you’ll be reading and watching more about hydro in the coming months. I’m leaving you in the capable hands of Jonathan and Sheldon. Leave a comment to let them know you care!

Here’s a teaser of some b-roll I shot yesterday evening at the Jenpeg station on the tip top of Lake Winnipeg.
